To M: No need to apologize for being a grammar police officer on this one. I think you may be on to something. I'm guessing there is an intentional breach of grammar conventions in order to make the name stand out. Anyway, the event still looks like a lot of fun!

Sorry to be the grammar police, but shouldn't the name of the event be "Here for the Party?"

Thank you for writing. I was at the Bluegrass festival at the about the same time as you. I'm not sure what happened either. I do know that events at the Old Davie School are generally well executed and a lot of fun. Generally, these events are staged by volunteers, which is part of the charm. I understand your frustration--especially with small children. Please don't give up on the school, or this particular festival. They do generally get things right. I know the music at the festival worked last you, and I predict it will be great next you too. In fact, the music may have been great this year. But I didn't wait long enough to hear it either.

We arrived at the Bluegrass Festival at 12pm with our 2 small children and sat in the hot sun until 2 pm and not one musician had even taken the stage yet. What a disappointment and poorly organized event. We were not the first people to get up and leave complaining. How can you advertise a FAMILY event to start at 12 and by 2 pm no music had even STARTED!?? VERY DISAPPOINTING.

As a WASP convert to Judaism, I thought I should educate you about the converting process of Jews. If you are referring to conversion to political beliefs or party affiliation, Jews are not a unique group using this practice. If, however, you are referring to conversion to Judaism, it is MUCH more difficult to convert to Judaism than to Christianity. Since I have done both in my lifetime and know many from both sides who have gone through the experience, I know this to be true. It is required in Judaism to turn away someone who is interested in Judaism and a potential convert three times before acknowledging their desire - taken from the Old Testament. Because of that, Jews do not prosthelitize. But we do desire to educate; you misspelled SEPARATE.

This was outstanding, I believe we have the best cooks in Davie from all around. My husband and I enjoyed all the home cooking since I don't get a chance to do much cookin' lately. Thanks to all who participated. YUM, I would highly recommend this to everyone it is affordable and supports the Davie Historical Society and Old Davie School. :-)

Hi Tom,
Thank you for watching. Actually during our strategic planning process we felt it necessary to shorten our MISSION statement and seperate the PURPOSE and VALUES and STRATEGIC PRIORITIES (GOALS) which will support the overall mission. Family oriented was changed to neighborshood values. I strongly support our families and will look at a way to work this into the strategic priorities. Each department will be identifying a Strategic priority(ies) or Value when establishing either a policy or their budget. I always appreciate your involvement. Best Regards. Councilwoman Susan Starkey
