Davie Town Administrator Presents Balanced Budget

At the June 17, 2010, Town of Davie Budget Workshop, Town Administrator Gary Shimun presented the Town Council with a balanced budget without having to raise the millage rate or the fire assessment, and without having to layoff any employees. Shimun and his team were able to manage and control the budget during onerous economic times with hard work and persistence.

Mr. Shimun’s budget is comprehensive and fiscally responsible, as well as cognizant of balancing services with revenues. While Davie has seen its neighbors fall into real economic dilemmas, the Town has consistently managed its finances carefully. Mr. Shimun has presented the proposed budgets to the Town Council for the past four years. Under his leadership, Davie has continuously improved its budget process by ensuring that it is comprehensive, thorough, and transparent.

Town of Davie Landlord-Tenant Training Seminar

The Town of Davie Police Department is hosting a Landlord-Tenant Training Seminar free to the general public on Thursday, April 23, 2009, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Davie Police Department located at 1230 South Nob Hill Road.

Registration by April 20 is required to attend the seminar. Please contact Davie Police Training Coordinator Patti Dobson at 954-693-8265 for more information and to register.

TOWN OF DAVIE’S 29th ANNUAL SPRING FESTIVAL AND EGG HUNT

The Town of Davie will hold its 29th Annual Spring Egg Hunt and Family Festival on Saturday, April 11, 2009
at Robbins Lodge, which is located at 4005 Hiatus Road, Davie. The event activities will start at 9:00am and will continue until Noon. The egg hunt will begin at 10:05am and will end shortly thereafter. Free activities will include: an animal farm, family hayride, bounce houses, climbing wall and exotic animals. Activities at a small cost will include: face paining, sand art and pictures with Peter Cottontail.

FREE children’s entertainment will take place all morning!
Peter Cottontail will arrive by fire engine at 10:00am!

Hunt: Starts at 10:05 a.m. and it ends shortly thereafter
Ages Groups: 0 to 3, 4 to 5, and 6 to 8 Only
Prizes: For all special eggs found

Free candy for all kids that participate. (while supplies last).
