Celebrate Arbor Day at Pine Island Park in Davie

The Town of Davie invites the public to celebrate Florida’s Arbor Day on January 21, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Town will be holding a Forestry Field Day at Pine Island Park located at 3801 South Pine Island Road where you will have the opportunity to plant trees, pot up trees in the new nursery, get information about volunteering with the South Florida Audubon Society, and learn about Backyard Wildlife Habitats. In addition, Davie residents will get to take home a free tree.

Get your volunteer hours, learn horticultural tips, help out Davie, and have fun at the same time! Bring a shovel (if you have one) and work clothes to Pine Island Park at 9 a.m. to join us.

Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a Joint Networking Event with Leadership Broward Foundation:

4741 S. University Drive, Davie (Next to Publix at University Drive and Griffin Road)

This event is located at the brand new Baptist Medical Plaza at Davie. I have heard a lot of good things about this facility, so I’m looking forward to getting a first hand look. According to their web site:
