Thank you for writing. I was at the Bluegrass festival at the about the same time as you. I’m not sure what happened either. I do know that events at the Old Davie School are generally well executed and a lot of fun. Generally, these events are staged by volunteers, which is part of the charm. I understand your frustration–especially with small children. Please don’t give up on the school, or this particular festival. They do generally get things right. I know the music at the festival worked last you, and I predict it will be great next you too. In fact, the music may have been great this year. But I didn’t wait long enough to hear it either.
We arrived at the Bluegrass Festival at 12pm with our 2 small children and sat in the hot sun until 2 pm and not one musician had even taken the stage yet. What a disappointment and poorly organized event. We were not the first people to get up and leave complaining. How can you advertise a FAMILY event to start at 12 and by 2 pm no music had even STARTED!?? VERY DISAPPOINTING.
