Davie Town Administrator Presents Balanced Budget

At the June 17, 2010, Town of Davie Budget Workshop, Town Administrator Gary Shimun presented the Town Council with a balanced budget without having to raise the millage rate or the fire assessment, and without having to layoff any employees. Shimun and his team were able to manage and control the budget during onerous economic times with hard work and persistence.
Mr. Shimun’s budget is comprehensive and fiscally responsible, as well as cognizant of balancing services with revenues. While Davie has seen its neighbors fall into real economic dilemmas, the Town has consistently managed its finances carefully. Mr. Shimun has presented the proposed budgets to the Town Council for the past four years. Under his leadership, Davie has continuously improved its budget process by ensuring that it is comprehensive, thorough, and transparent.
